The Itinerary
Friday
Saturday
Sunday
Arrive early to explore Smithers, set up your camp and enjoy some down time. The historic Glenwood Hall will be open for you to make yourself at home and has washrooms with sinks but no showers.
Our welcome reception and introductory conversation will begin around 5pm in the comfort of the Hall. Mock-tails will be served and feel free to bring your own drink of choice as well. We'll also bust out our first surprise 'cowboy craft'.

The inaugural farm to table dinner will be served by 7:00pm. Expect fresh, seasonal, nutrient dense dishes with unique culinary twists crafted by Chef Manuela Geier.

After dinner, we hope to have a bonfire. This will be dependent on the dry-ness of the season as last summer there was a complete campfire ban. We welcome guests to bring their musical instruments, voices and stories to share.

Saturday morning begins at 7ish with healthy smoothies, cowboy coffee, tea and a light snack.
By 8am we move to our mats for a 3 hour yoga workshop to prepare you for the trail ride in the afternoon. Naomi will lead a powerful and awakening flow with lots of hip openers, core strengtheners and balance postures. A grounding and energizing pranayama practice (breathing techniques), time for meditation and reflection will also be woven into this workshop.

At 11:15 a hearty brunch will be served and then we trade our yoga clothes for riding gear and head on over to Mountain View Adventures which is just a few minutes drive from the Hall.

We will split our group into two with the first group beginning at 12:30pm and the second group at 3:00pm.

You'll learn about horses and basic horsemanship and you'll quickly see how yoga is so complimentary. In addition to our focus on core and balance which is necessary for riding, our themes of grounding, alignment and deep breathing will help direct energy and intention to the horse.

While one group is riding, the other will be busy with a 'Yogi Art' project or another 'Cowboy Craft'. These activities are designed to increase focus, a greater sense of clarity and bring a smile to your soul.

The second group of riders will arrive back to base camp by 5:30pm or so. There will be a little free time to wash up and share tales from the trail with your new friends.

Dinner will be served by 7pm accompanied by music and great conversation.

Evening activities will be casual and depending on the mood we might even see the dance floor swing into life.

On Sunday morning, we'll begin a little later around 8am with smoothies, hot bevvies and a light snack before gathering once again for our last yoga session of the weekend. This time it will be full of heart-opening poses, backbends and a guided meditation. We will also delve into the power of a restorative practice which will provide an opportunity to explore how we have used our bodies in new ways and end with a thoughtful, creative exercise.

Lunch will be served at high noon and you'll leave feeling rejuvenated and relaxed.

After everyone gets packed up, feel free to drop by the Black Horse Ranch and Retreat just a minute up the road for a Farm Tour.
